B2B online retail in figures
The majority of all B2B companies, namely 83%, already sell their products online. And the trend is rising! Digital sales channels account for at least half of sales. This was the result of a study by Salesforce. This means that digitalization is also picking up speed in the B2B sector. Traditional retail companies in particular dominate B2B online trade. The information and communication technology (10.3%), food and beverages (9.3%), textiles (7.2%), office supplies (7.2%) and household and furniture (7.1%) sectors are particularly well represented in B2B retail (source: bevh: complete survey of German B2B online retail on the World Wide Web ).
According to a study conducted by ibi research in 2018, the most important purchasing channel for B2B buyers is the B2B store. Information on prices, availability and expected delivery times as well as order history are particularly important for buyers. A functioning search function and customer-specific prices are also requirements that buyers place on a B2B store.
